Part 2: Awakening to Zero Point...

by Patty Laferriere

Only one document was discovered completely intact among the 25,000 fragments of papyrus, parchment, and hammered copper known as the "Dead Sea Scrolls: the Great Isaiah Scroll." Nearly one thousand years older than existing copies of the Old Testament's Book of Isaiah, the twenty-two-foot parchment was still rolled and sealed in its original earthen container when it was discovered in 1946. The completeness of the Isaiah Scroll offers unprecedented insight into the power of an ancient mystery—a lost mode of prayer—that modern science is just beginning to understand.

Displayed today in Jerusalem's Shrine of the Book Museum, the Great Isaiah Scroll is believed to be so precious that it's kept in a vault beneath the building's floor in the event of a natural or man-made disaster. In "The Isaiah Effect," Braden suggests that Isaiah, the first Old Testament prophet, left precise instructions to the people of the future describing an unconventional mode of prayer. Using principles recognized only recently in quantum physics, Braden demonstrates how Isaiah's nonreligious, nondenominational form of prayer transcends time and distance to bring healing to our bodies and peace to the nations of our modern world.

Prayer in it's pure form transcends religion, it transcends mysticism and transcends science as we know it today. Maybe prayer is the best of what the three have to offer. It is science, religion and mysticism married into a technology that we have yet to name. Prayer is an inner technology, according to Braden.

Ultimately, prayer and compassion prepare us for The Shift of the Ages and with it, the realization of a new, loving and cooperative reality that the ancients long ago predicted.

Our entire civilization has been based upon two central false assumptions that are still being taught in our schools today.

The first false assumption is that the space between things is empty. We are told, “ninety-six percent of the universe is empty space.” What is matter—or you could say, what matters—is at most four percent.

The second false assumption is that our inner experience—our thought, feeling, emotion and belief—has no effect on the world beyond our own bodies.

Both of these assumptions have been proven absolutely false. That isn’t theory, it’s scientific fact, documented in peer-reviewed journals. It just hasn’t made its way into our high school and college text books.

Though we were brought up to think strategically and tactically, reality transcends the strategic and tactical. We effect results by starting with the end in mind. We still put everything in place for what we choose to happen; we can’t just sit back in our armchairs.

But we’re shifting from a purely Newtonian way of engineering and solving problems, believing that everything is separate and we must work toward our goal, to a quantum way of thinking, where we strongly and clearly identify with the outcome.

There is powerful video documentation from China of just how quickly the physical world responds to this language. In one video, a woman who is diagnosed with an inoperable, cancerous tumor, is in the presence of three practitioners who are trained in this language Braden has described. Ultrasound gives a visual of the tumor melting away and literally vanishing from the screen.

This happens not through thought but rather feeling. It is such a powerful feeling that the tumor responds and disappears in less than three minutes. This is not a one-time phenomenon; they do this for brain and bladder tumors all the time in this part of China. The same principle applies when groups gather to feel peace in a geographic region, or to experience the successful outcome of their project in a business.

Remember that it’s a feeling, not a thinking. Our success literature uses the term “think” in books like—Think and Grow Rich, The Magic of Thinking Big, As a Man Thinketh, The Power of Positive Thinking.  But thinking tends to be sequential, and is a natural outgrowth of a male-dominated, schematically-oriented, technologically-based, left-brained society. It’s no wonder we would take these principles and try to force them into the realm of what we think; that’s our conditioning.

But here’s the bottom line: our world is made of electromagnetic fields of information. If you want to change something in the world, you’ve got to communicate within that electromagnetic field. Interestingly, science has now found—and this has been published in peer-reviewed journals over the last few years—that the human heart is the largest generator of electrical and magnetic fields in the body!

Our brains generate an electrical and a magnetic field, but the electrical field of the heart is about 100 times stronger than that of the brain, and the heart’s magnetic field is about 5,000 times stronger than the magnetic field of the brain.

Our own physics textbooks say that if you want to change the atoms of physical matter, you have to change either the electrical field or the magnetic field—the heart does both. This is why feeling is in some ways far more effective than thinking.

In our society, we’ve been conditioned to believe that feelings and emotions are ineffective. Men have largely been told not to have them, and women have been told that if you’re going to have them, go have them somewhere else, where they won’t bother anyone.

But outside our society, it’s quite different. In the monasteries in Tibet, for example, they say that feeling is the most powerful force in the universe. At one monastery, Braden asked the abbot, “In your tradition, what is the force that connects everything in the universe?” The abbot answered with a single word: compassion. Braden thought it was a mistranslation, so he asked the translator to pose the question to the abbot again. The abbot came back with the same word: compassion.

With that, Braden asked whether compassion is a force of nature that connects everything in the universe—or is it an experience that we have in our hearts?” After the translator had made sure that the abbot understood exactly what was being asked, the abbot answered again with one word: “Yes.”
